My story

Otis is ten years old and is the epitome of a Southern Gentleman. He is a black lab mix who is quite the lover. We pulled him from a shelter about 3 months ago because he had many strikes against him. His age, his color (black dogs are rarely chosen in shelters) and he is heartworm positive. Immediately we started him on the Slow Kill treatment for heartworms. He is neutered and in a foster home where he has begun the road to healing and learning love again. Otis is a laid-back guy. He loves all people and dogs that he meets. He has come a long way in his relationship with cats but sometimes gets a little over zealous so we don't like to have him around small kittens. Otis is adoptable now and has 3 months left of his heartworm treatment. Misfit Dog Project will pay for the remaining months of his treatment and the heartworm test once treatment has finished. One of Otis’s favorite pass time is lying next to his foster mom on the couch while she watches TV. He loves getting pet and giving kisses, with the most adorable grey muzzle. Mr. Otis is just looking for his retirement home to continue enjoying life. Visit our website www.misfitdogproject.org for an application to adopt Otis, under the contact us tab.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Otis, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
