My story

Hey you! Yeah, you! Come here. Id like to have a little chit chat with you. It’s me, Cobra! I need help with my Christmas wish. I’ve been longing for a family to call my own but I haven’t found them yet. Could you share my post from Finding Them Homes-James Bay Pawsitive Rescue - Adoptable Dogs/Pups I'm am a male, husky mix around 8 years old, weighing 65 lbs. I'm a mature fellow but don't let that fool you, I have a lot of spunk and can be quite playful. I'm neutered, microchipped and UTD on my vaccinations. I am on senior weight management food and foster mom measures it to make sure I am maintaining my healthy figure. I was a little overweight when I arrived from the north. I am crate trained. I go in during the day and sleep so soundly during the night. I won’t make a peep til you come get me in the morning. I enjoy meeting people big or small especially when I know I’m going to get a good head rub. Those are the best! Be sure not to give me to much attention as we do not want to create any separation anxiety. I do bark and whine at my people when I want affection. It’ll be very important to follow the “no touch no talk” rule, please. I love to be brushed. It feels like a wonderful massage and I’ll take all I can get! Around the house I am calm and just like to hang out wherever you are. I love dog beds or nice rugs.. something with a bit of cushion to curl up on. My leash skills are a work in progress. I am like a bull in a china shop when I see little critters. I instantly want to go and according to my human friends, that’s not polite! I use a training collar which does help with my pulling but I am still learning to make the right decision while on walks. Training would be very beneficial for me. I like to bark around other dogs, especially if they are barking or high energy. Slow, controlled, calm introductions are a good with other dogs. I do respond in kind if another dog is loud and or aggressive. I am with a temp foster while my mom is away and she has two dogs. We haven’t formally met and I am doing okay but can quickly revert back to barking and growling. If my forever family has another dog in the home, I think it would be best for us to attend training to ensure we start off on the right foot. I haven't met a cat in my foster home, but I probably would want to chase it, so it's best I go to a cat free home. A home with small dog, or high energy excitable dog would not be good for me either. I am great in the car, I just get in and lie down, (even on long trips) or boat rides. I love long walks, playing in the yard and just hanging out. I’m pretty easy going so if you’re looking for a dog like me, let’s start the process! Please go to www.findingthemhomes.com and fill out an application for me, COBRA!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cobra, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
