My story

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area. NAME: Kaylee GENDER: Female (Spayed) AGE: About 8 years WEIGHT: About 6.5 Pounds DOGS/CATS: Gets along with other small dogs, Unsure with cats CHILDREN: Recommend a home with older, mature children (10+) due to her small size OTHER: Chihuahua / Yorkie mix Say hello to Kaylee, a very sweet, approximately 8 year old, 6.5lb Chihuahua/Yorkie mix! Just look at that fuzzy face! Kaylee came to CRT after her owner passed away. Though a little unsure of what was going on when she first arrived at her foster home, she picked up on the routine quickly and gets along very well with her foster siblings. Kaylee stays in an expen while her foster mom is at work, and quickly earned the privilege of sleeping overnight unpenned. She has shown no interest in sleeping with her foster mom, but she is still adjusting to her new foster home and that could change as she adjusts. She will bark to alert you that she wants something, and will stand at the patio door when she is ready to go out to do her business. She does not want to use a pee pad, she wants to do her business outside. Kaylee loves to play fetch with small squeaky toys. But what she loves most is to be next to you or in your lap! She is very affectionate, and will lick you as long as you let her. We think this is how she deals with anxiety. It has lessened as she has adjusted to her foster home and we continue to work with her on it. Daily walks might help her use up any anxious energy. We will update her bio as we discover more about her. We are not sure how she is with children or cats. The perfect home for Kaylee would be calm and moderately active with plenty of lap time and snuggles! Kaylee is being fostered in the Dallas, Texas area. If she sounds like the new best friend you’ve been looking for, please fill out an application! Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ Kaylee is spayed, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours? This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $250 adoption donation is required. As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met. After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kaylee, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
