My story

Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3. Adoption application at www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thanks for your cooperation!*** WE ARE NOT A SHELTER, WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to come look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Renton, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable as we need these funds to cover medical bills. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We do not like to accept PayPal because of their fees & charges but if the potential adopter is willing to pay them we will accept PayPal’. The way these babies such as Lance are thrown away like rubbish on the streets is incomprehensible but yet here we are again with the very sweet Lance’s sad tail to life. Lance once used to have a family & bed but he ended up abandoned in a residential area on the streets of Changwon Korea just after a fresh groom, he was very clean so the thought was his family was looking for him. Lance was then admitted to the death camp of a shelter where the capacity is 200 & they are at 400 & of course he was frightened & didn’t understand what was happening to him & like many of the dogs around him. The shelter held onto him thinking that his family would show up, just in case. But of course they didn’t & his time was up & he was going to lose his precious life but thankfully before that happened the the angels from the Korean rescue stepped in & saved Lance’s life along with another gorgeous little poodle called Casey. Both Lance & Casey were rescued by the amazing Korean rescue & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Korean rescue & we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank you enough. Lance was bought back to the USA along with Casey & they both now are US citizens. Straight away we could see Lance was so extremely thin & he really needs to put on weight which we are working on & this will take some time. Lance is a soft gentle little soul, he is very sweet & loving & enjoys being picked up & cuddled & once he trusts you he will give you kisses. This little man was so very thin when he arrived. He now eats a clean raw diet of raw proteins, fruits, vegetables & supplements. Lance is very social & would do best in a home with people home during the day, he does good with other dogs & will need continued work learning to walk on a harness & leash as he is still a baby. Yet again we can’t imagine he had toys previously so having toys, a warm bed, a loving home & not to have to worry about where his food is coming from is all new to Lance. Also Lance really does enjoy a great outfit. Lance has been around many breeds of dogs & he is currently fostered with foster siblings so he must go to a forever home with other dogs present in the home who are playful & love to play & snuggle. Lance is a poodle & he is roughly 11.5 lbs & 6 years old. Lance needed a lot of weight put on him & his wonderful foster family who put on 3.5 lbs on this sweetheart, he is neutered, microchipped, had his shots, including DHLPP, rabies & bordatella & is heart worm negative & dewormed & tested negative. Once these shots expire we will not redo them as we do not & will not over vaccinate our beloved dogs & only redo the rabies. He previously had a small skin infection that we cleared up. Lance had a dental scale & polish along with dental x-rays. Lance has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. He will be shy & uncertain until he is comfortable & then he will be the biggest sweetheart & you will wonder how you ever lived without him. We do not know for sure what breed Lance is mixed with & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Lance’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not say you will take a dog to training if you will not. Please do not email us asking is Lance potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying & tick the yes box. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Lance & going through the process and have read his listing fully to the end & are interested in adopting. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a home visit followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Lance who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this adorable little fellow. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Lance has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through & not to be thrown away or abandoned like rubbish again.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lance, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
