My story

Meet Buster! Buster is spunky and looking for a forever home of his own as an only dog. Buster has decided blankets, beds, and laps are his favorite things in all the world. He craves human affection. He has received training from our behaviorist and is a smart boy that aims to please! He is strong so no young kids. He loves to get pets and snuggle and go for walks. He wants a fenced in yard to play in in his forever home. We rescued Buster from Pasco County Animal Services in terrible shape. This poor boy is the product of severe neglect. The first time we met Buster, he was 100% without hair and covered in scabs. But, he was kind. He would wag his tail when you approached his kennel and stare right into your eyes. Fast forward several months with devoted skin care and treatments from his foster family, Buster Brown is looking wayyyyyy better. We recently tested the remaining scabs/scarred areas with punch biopsies and learned that in those areas still without hair growth, it’s quite possible that the severe case of dermatitis has made it impossible to clear fully or grow hair in certain spots.  What this means is, Buster will always retain some of the outward reminders of his horrible past. You will always be able to see a glimpse into the horror he suffered prior to joining the Maxx&Me family. What it also means is that Buster will always have a prominent and obvious testament to how far he has come. He beat death. He beat sickness. He beat the pain.  Buster is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. If you can be Buster's buddy please complete an adoption application at www.maxxandme.org! His adoption donation is only $225. Maxx & Me is an all volunteer, all foster home rescue and do not have a shelter. Please allow at least 48 hours for applications to be processed (missing information may slow the process, so please take your time and be thoughtful in your answers). All dogs posted are available (so no need to ask). We place dogs based on best home for each dog and not order of applications received. Email us at maxxandmerescue@gmail.com for updates and questions. Thank you for choosing rescue. November 3, 2024, 8:21 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Buster, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
