My story

Sprout is a 6 y/o male who came to HBHR from another rescue group in SE Texas. At 14”, he is a solid 30 pounds. He has a soft coat, cropped tail and gorgeous golden eyes! This multi-talented Beagle can trail a scent with his nose to the ground or with his nose in the air! Sprout came with no real history, but seems to have led a solitary life with little human interaction. He was slow to trust people and welcome human contact. He has blossomed into a happy, warm & loving Beagle who now makes eye contact and loves being petted. He will occasionally flinch at unexpected sounds or touches and is afraid of thunderstorms. Sprout is housebroken with using a jingle bell on the back door. He is crated when his foster family is not at home but loves to sleep in bed with someone at night. He gets along great with kids and his foster siblings. He would do well with other Beagles or as an only dog. He does not like being alone all day or crated for long periods. He is very vocal when left alone and would not do well in an apartment or townhome. Sprout loves hedgehog stuffed toys! He will also alert and protect his foster family from unidentified dog toys! Silly Beagle! He’s slowly learning to play with the other Beagles. Sprout is looking for a forever family who will shower him with love and affection!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sprout, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
