My story

Howdy! My name is Kit Kat, and I'm the Catillac of all cats -- a sweet-as-the-candy bar, fearless, loving, inquisitive, playful, and independent black DSH/ Bombay mix fella who was born in September 2018. I've got the Bombay mix's sleek, shiny patent-leather coat that's soft as a mink's fur, plus my large copper-penny eyes will astound you! I'm a happy, outgoing kitty who thinks everything is new and exciting. Yet I can be a cuddle bunny: I lay my head on my foster meowmy's shoulder while she's lying in bed and curl up in my foster dad's lap when he's in his recliner. I'm past the destructive kitten stage. In fact, I have perfect scratching post manners. I like to use the 6-foot scratching post/ kitty condo and then to lay on the top perch. I'm fascinated with playing with water when it drips from the faucet. I was rescued at two weeks old by a kind couple who bottle fed me, so I'm glad to be alive! In return, I ended up being a God-send to a timid Siamese mix adult female who had previously been rescued by this couple: I kicked in Cocoa's motherly instincts, and, in turn, she helped raise me and certainly helped groom me like my mom would have. We've become best buddies, play together, and sleep together. We love to chase each other through a 3-way tube tunnel. We scramble around together on the cat trees, and when we're exhausted, we take a cat nap in one of the cubbies. I've certainly helped Cocoa blossom by bringing out her playfulness and subduing her timidity! By the way, I get along great with the four senior kitties and the other foster baby kitten in my foster home. So I would be a great companion for an existing kitty who needs some company. My foster parents think I'm purrfect (but don't want to have 7 cats). As much as I like it here in my foster home, I realize that it would be best for me to have a loving home of my very own. Please arrange to meet me. It would be a CATastrophe for me not to find a furever home! Please don't be superstitious of black cats! Buster's Friends makes a concerted effort to rescue black cats and kittens from shelters because they are five times more likely to be euthanized than any other color of cat. However, many people who have had a black or Bombay mix cat before end up adopting another one because they seem to have such wonderful personalities and are emotionally stable and well balanced. Kit Kat is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, FIV/ FeLV negative, and ready for his indoor-only home. He will be microchipped after his adoption is finalized. No de-clawing permitted. Kit Kat's adoption fee is $100, cash or check payable to Buster's Friends. Please click the contact button if you are interested in Kit Kat, and we can let you know exactly where you can meet him. To adopt one of our cats, you must fill out our adoption application and be approved by one of our adoption counselors. To make the process more efficient, submit the online cat adoption application at https://www.bustersfriends.org/cat-adoption-application.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Kit Kat, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
