My story

Meet Brantley! Quick Facts: Breed: Pitbull X Estimated Birthday: 1/1/2016 Size: 49 lbs --================================ Brantley hasn’t had the easiest life. He was a shelter dog at a young age who had a bad respiratory infection and heartworms. With the odds stacked against him already as a black Pitbull in a shelter, throw in some medical issues, and he was the perfect addition to our rescue crew. Healed from infection + treated for heartworms, Brantley found what seemed to be his forever home. But Brantley's family grew over the years, and unfortunately, Brantley found himself on the backburner, and once again subjected to being dropped off at the shelter. Luckily, the shelter reached out to us, and we quickly picked Brantley up - though he is now filled with confusion and on medication to help relieve his anxiety. On a happier note, Brantley is still a great companion and we have faith we can find a true forever home for him. He likes to go on walks, showing off his zoomies outside, and playing fetch.. but it's more fetch for you, because Brantley doesn't believe in the vital part of the game that includes actually bringing the ball back. His absolute favorite game is hanging out with his humans - he's a fantastic nap buddy, always advocating for the cause, and would appreciate a fluffed pillow and a blanket. This boy loves a good car ride, as long as you promise snacks for the goodest boi (him, duh). Brantley is dog selective so would do best in a home by himself or with calm, submissive dogs the same size or smaller than him with proper introductions. He does get a little greedy with toys and bones, so Brantley's goodies - like peanut butter filled kongs - are only included in his "me-time" crate training currently. He’s never met a cat that we know of. He has lived with kids and does fine after proper introduction but does not enjoy being crawled on or pulled on, so older kids would be preferred. He does have crate anxiety which we are actively working on. He can go short stints in a crate but then feels like his people have left him all over again. He’s currently doing better in an indestructible crate, but actually is (mostly) reliable outside of the crate when you're not home. If you are looking for a best friend who loves to go on car rides, walks, play ball, and nap peacefully while you're catching up on the latest Yellowstone episode, Brantley is your guy. Before emailing- please read: - Yes, this dog is available for adoption - The adoption fee for Brantley is $265 - Apply at c2cnd.org - The adoption fee covers their age appropriate shots, microchip, deworming, spay/neuter, and any other medical expenses while in our care - Local adopters only.
