My story

This dog is being fostered in Dallas TX and must be adopted within the Dallas, North Central Texas or the southern Oklahoma area. NAME: Murphy GENDER: Male (Neutered) AGE: About 12 years WEIGHT: About 9.5 pounds DOGS/CATS: Fine with other small dogs, Unknown with cats CHILDREN: Recommend an all adult home Introducing Murphy. Murphy is a gentle senior who is looking for a loving home to share his love for the rest of his life. Murphy is sooooo easy to love and have around. Murphy is a sweet old man that was found wandering the streets and no one came to claim him. We don’t know why he was in that predicament and we don’t know how long he was alone. But you can be sure that he is safe now and his new forever home will be the lucky one. Murphy lives with another foster dog and gets along fine with him. Murphy is really quiet. Often he will hang out by himself rather than interact with the other dog in his foster home. But then he gets a burst of energy and wants to play for a few minutes. He rarely barks except when the postman comes to the door each day! Then he becomes “Mighty Murphy”, bravely protecting your home! Murphy loves to spend time cuddling next to his human on the couch. His foster Mom works from home and he loves laying in his favorite bed under his Mom’s desk while she works. He has several beds around the house and he spends most of his time curled up and relaxing in one of his beds. He also enjoys sunning himself in the yard in warm weather. Murphy enjoys quiet times and quiet places! When Murphy was found he had a mouth full of rotten teeth. He lost all but two. Therefore, his diet is now a canned food or soft diet. As with most seniors, he doesn’t eat much but definitely likes his meals. He also has a funny walk where his elbows sort of stick out to the side. But it does not slow him down – he LOVES to take walks when the weather is warm. There is some arthritis in his front legs that makes him sensitive to certain movements. He takes a daily anti-inflammatory chewie medicine every day to make him feel better. For his age, he is happy and relatively healthy! We estimate Murphy to be about 12 years old, but of course we don’t know for sure. He is about 9.5 pounds. Unlike most seniors Murphy has a healthy appetite and bursts of energy! Due to Murphy’s age and laid back personality, we would prefer to place him in a home with adults only. He would be awesome for a retired couple, or a work from home family. We also think Murphy would be happiest as an only dog where he could receive 100% of your love. Murphy is completely housebroken. Murphy is being fostered in the DFW (Texas) area. If this sweet guy sounds like the right fit for your home, our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/ Murphy is neutered, micro chipped, up-to-date on shots, HW negative. and on heartworm prevention. He is ready to join a loving family – could that family be yours? This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $250 adoption fee required. After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Murphy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
