My story

Here’s a cutie and you get four dogs in one! Katie’s mother was a Boston Terrier/Jack Russell and her father was a Yorkie/Chihuahua. And with this combination you get this darling Katie. She is one in a million. . As a puppy her owner could not afford Vet care. Her boys were young and while playing rough with Katie broke her right rear leg. It just healed on its own. Now the only time you can tell it bothers her, is when she is in full running speed and she will hold it up. Believe me, she can run FAST. It really does not keep her from any activity. We decided that because she was ok with it we would not go through the rigors of surgery. She had two litters of puppies and the second litter her owner called me and said after she had the pups she had been bleeding for five days! I rushed her to my Vet and she did an emergency spay, put her on fluids, and was afraid she would need a blood transfusion. She pulled through, and all four puppies survived also. Katie is one tough little lady! After a lot of begging, her owner turned her over to us. Katie has an allergy and was nearly bald on certain areas. We took her to our Vet and she did an all over exam and put her on allergy medicine that she takes once a day. Now she has more hair than we know what to do with. She is on Heartworm and flea and tick medication. She will need to be on this year round, and the allergy medicine for the rest of her life. Katie’s adoption donation is $400.00. We prefer a home with someone at home, retired or working from home. Katie really loves men but she likes ladies too. (She is quite a flirt.) They will have to be ok with her sleeping under the covers in bed. In the winter months she likes to get at the bottom of the bed. She makes a great foot warmer! A fenced back yard is a must to let her exercise and potty. She loves to chase squirrels and will follow them into the road if she does not have a fence to restrict her. Katie does not like cats at all. We have done everything to try and “tame” her instinct to chase them down, but nothing has worked. So not cats at home for Katie. If you are interested in Katie email us at sunsetanimalrescue@yahoo.com and request a questionnaire for Katie. We will email it to you. Complete and email back to us. We will check your references and information and if all checks out, will then schedule a visit with Katie. All communications must be done by internet. Katie is not good with cats. email sunsetanimalrescue@yahoo.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Katie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
