My story

Name: Rex & Rocko Breed: American Bully (Rex) & American Pit Bull Terrier/ Lab (Rocko) Age: Adult Gender: Males Rex and Rocko, more affectionately known as “The Boyfriends”, are two best friend bully breed mixes who love each other more than anything in this world. They may not really be attached at the hip but they sure act like it! They are seeking a home looking for 2 dogs who already adore each other, get along perfectly, and who are better dogs when they’re together. While they came into rescue separately-Rocko an owner surrender when his owner went to jail, Rex from a local shelter who didn’t feel he was placeable due to his separation anxiety-they found each other in rescue and instantly became inseparable. Rocko loves to swim and could spend hours in the pool while Rex is content to lay next to the pool and be the lifeguard. They love to play fetch, though for Rex its not so much fetch as grab the ball and forget to keep it in his mouth on the run back, but Rocko is always happy to pick up the dropped ball and carry it back for his friend. He’s got Rex’s back after all. They have similar good qualities. They’re friendly, love people, playful, love to chomp on bones, excellent walking buddies, housetrained, know basic obedience and tricks, and are always down for a good snuggle. They also struggle with separation anxiety. Separately they struggle far more than when they are together so they actually do make each other better dogs but separation anxiety is an uphill battle that takes patience, consistency, training, and a forever home willing to commit for the long haul and put the time and work in. They need a home willing to continue to work with them, invest in a sturdy, reinforced crate, and someone who is home more often than not. We know it is a tall order to find them a home together at all let alone with their separation anxiety but we owe it to them to try to keep this pair together. These boys have some of the kindest hearts we have ever known. Requirements: Adopter must own home due to breed mix. Someone home more often than not, willing to invest in an "indestructible" kennel, and will continue training for the separation anxiety. No cats. Interested in adopting? Fill out a preadopt application here: https://form.jotform.com/203104540557144 You can email laurahhk9@gmail.com with questions and for a preadopt application. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated as age appropriate, tested for heartworm disease if age appropriate, and dewormed.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rex & Rocko, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
