You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Casper is a big, beautiful adult Pyr who came to rescue with a littermate after being surrendered to a kill shelter in Tennessee by his owner for wandering. Like most Great Pyrenees, Casper will thrive with a foster family or forever home that understands and can nurture his pyr-fect independent and adventurous spirit! While we're still getting to know him in boarding, Casper has already shown his foster mom how much he loves other dogs and how adaptable he can be. He also did great meeting a cat, giving a sniff and walking away. His big, brown eyes offer a window into his soulful personality and his gratitude for affection from his people. Casper is currently safe and sound in boarding, but he would do well in a home with a pyr-savvy parent or two who can show him the good life - full of regular meals, walks together, and maybe even naps together on the couch. We know his personality will truly shine with the opportunity to settle in and show off his big heart! - Written by K.P. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are:â€ڑ) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We may consider fostering for some of our dogs who are in boarding. Please visit Fostering FAQ for an application and information about our fostering program.
