My story

Meet Parakeet! This petite little gal was ready to get out of her kennel & see what was happening outside shelter walls. We spent time walking the yard, did great learning to recall while walking as the yard can be a busy place. And she loves a playing fetch with a good squeaker toy…each squeak was better than the last for her & find it for treats was a huge hit with her. She deserves to have a devoted human(s) to keep teaching this smarty pants the basics & have fun while doing it Came in as a stray on 11/19/24. Found near 700 E 90th, Chicago *Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL *The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. *All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. *Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
