My story

What a handsome mug! Toby is a sweet 2 year-old who’s found himself surrendered to an overcrowded, stressful shelter. The silver lining? Toby came in looking healthy and well cared for, which tells us he knows what it’s like to have a loving home. Toby was a gentleman and impressed us with his polite manners, sitting nicely for treats and taking them so gently. That face says it all. Toby is longing to be back in a home where he belongs. Came in as an owner surrender on 11/17/24 Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
