Name:  Shirley Temple        Best Guess for Breed:  Chihuahua mix Best Guess for Age:   1 year as of June 2024        SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:   13.5 lbs   Gets Along With:  Shirley gets along with other dogs. We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested if you have them. We would be cautious placing Shirley in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare small breed dogs with their level of energy or noise.  Children would need to be supervised closely to ensure their interactions with the dog are calm and gentle in nature.  We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.    Currently Living at:   Texas shelter; will come to the DC area   Special adoption considerations: Shirley Temple is a big sweetie but can be a little shy. We think she would do best with an adopter who is committed to socializing her in new places and with new people - and in a home where she has regular opportunities to meet and interact with other dogs.    Shirley Temple is Looking For:  Her forever family! This sweetie has all that awesome young-dog energy for long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures her new humans can dream up! She'd like to go to dog school, too, so she can show how super smart she is. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well but you know what she wants most of all? To love and be loved, to be safe under her own roof. She has so many adoring gazes and happy tail wags and kisses to give in return. (and yeah, a name change. Shirley Temple is a mouthful!)What do you say? Does Shirley have a spot on your lap and in your life? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
