Fendi

My story

A volunteer writes:No wonder Fendi looks so subdued in his kennel. This handsome all white middle aged gentleman lived all his life with the same family....and now, he is sitting duck on top of his hiding box. Fendi owns the most gorgeous eyes melting green and blue into an artistic creation. He is shy and apprehensive of the human touch. Still, gentle words relax him and allow my hand to caress his beautiful head. No hiss, no swat but a slight tilt of his neck and a faint purr tell me that he appreciates my intentions. Fendi's owner loved him for his beautiful eyes and his friendly and affectionate disposition. He was known as a shy kitty needing time to warm up. Fendi is with us as his family moved once again to a new place not allowing pets but also because, due to another move, Fendi had started to have some rare litter box accidents(that we have not yet noticed at the care center). Fendi has a little cold right now but he dreams to start anew with a new family who will enjoy his beauty and the affection related to us by his former owners. Come and meet Fendi at the Manhattan Care Center.I have lived with dogs.I lived with children in my previous home.Fendi was on top of the den, looking concerned with somewhat dilated pupils, but allowed a gentle approach, sniffed treats, and allowed cheek rubbing while remaining a bit tense with a somewhat tight body. After the door was shut, and when the assessor returned to look at him a few minutes later he hissed a couple of times and he just needs a gentle approach.Fendi tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in nervous cat behavior.
