**$75 in pledges for the rescue that pulls** Gypsy ACCT-A-178434 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. Gypsy must have confirmed placement with a RESCUE PARTNER, FOSTER, or ADOPTER by THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH at 10AM. Should Gypsy's medical or behavioral status change, her urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Meet Gypsy, a sweet, wiggly girl who loves human attention! She's super friendly, leaning in for pets and taking treats gently from her human friends. While she's very affectionate, Gypsy is feeling a little stressed in the shelter environment and is eager to find her way out. She is used to being in a home, as she belonged to a friend of the person who brought her in, but no one has been able to get in touch with the owner to reunite them. With the right home and a little patience, we know Gypsy will relax and show even more of her loving personality. If you're looking for a new bestie to navigate all the good stuff with, Gypsy would love to meet you! Gypsy is a stocky girl who can be very strong on leash, and she walks better with a harness. She has met other dogs while at the shelter and done well, so if you have dogs at home, bring them along for a meet. Due to her length of stay, Gypsy is urgently seeking placement with a rescue partner, foster, or adopter. BEHAVIOR: Per staff 11/9: Gypsy was pretty good for her dog meet. The first dog was reactive through the fence and she just wanted to say hi, although there were some moments of lip licking. We did a distant meet without the fence and Gypsy was fine, although she is very strong. While waiting for the next dog to come out, Gypsy was a little jumpy towards us and showed interest in the other dogs who passed by, pulling towards them but seeming like she wanted to play. We did a fence meet with the second dog and she was pawing at her face through the fence. They were okay face to face with just a few moments of stiffness and tense facial expressions. Per staff 11/4: Good on the leash, sweet girl. Per volunteer 11/2: This sweet girl came to Acct as a stray on Oct 15. She had an owner, but that person never came for her. She had a very long pendulum growth that was removed soon after she arrived, but there has been no issue regarding that and she healed nicely. She is now in ISO with the pneumovirus but this nor her past health issues haven't discouraged our girl who is very loving and only wants cuddles and kisses. She was eager to get outside and easy to leash. She is very pretty, very happy, and is trying to stay housetrained. Once in the yard, without any coaxing she jumped on the lounge chair, I sat down and she got in my lap and we cuddled, with lots of kisses between us. She knows sit and takes treats nicely - she hasn't missed many treats. She's a strong girl, so the harness works best for walking her. And she needs more walks, since she weighs just under 75 lbs. She might be a dog that needs to be your one and only, but she has more than enough to love to give. Per volunteer 10/25: Too fixated on other dogs to do meet. Hard to return to kennel as strong + stubborn + over threshold. Per volunteer 10/20: [Towards other dogs] thru fence, seems ok, through fence gets reactive MEDICAL: On 10/28, Gypsy still had signs of an upper respiratory infection with concern for progression to pneumonia. Her course of doxycycline was extended and she was prescribed enrofloxacin. As of 10/31, she was negative for pneumovirus but was still positive for adenovirus and mycoplasma. She finished her medication on 11/7. On 10/21, Gypsy was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection (URI) or "doggy cold" and was prescribed doxycycline. She tested positive for pneumovirus, bordetella, adenovirus, coronavirus, and mycoplasma. On 10/19, Gypsy was spayed and had her mass removed and biopsied. She was in heat at the time of spay. Her mass was benign and was completely excised during surgery. Her sutures were removed on 10/31 and the site was healing well. During her intake exam on 10/15, Gypsy appeared to be in good health besides having a mammary tumor. She had a vet exam the same day where she was diagnose with a large, soft pedunculate mass w/ a very long stalk in the right inguinal region (close to but not associated with the right caudal mammary glands). She also had a tense, moderately distended abdomen that was difficult to adequately palpate and well developed hyperplastic mammary and vulva. She was described as a "Very sweet and exuberant girl in overweight body condition.
