My story

Big dog in a tiny collar. Cyprus came to us in a chain collar that was digging into his neck and had to be cut off. He was also pretty dirty, but well fed. The things we see at the shelter never stop amazing us in the worst way. Cyprus has some manners, and he was eager to be friends. He is a nice young boy. Help us turn this life around for Cyprus. No more tiny collars and neglect. Came in as a stray on 9/7/24. Found with A281048 near 100 S Halsted, Chicago Adoptions are walk-in 12-6 daily at 2741 S. Western Ave. Chicago, IL Email visitcacc@cityofchicago.org for more information. The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
