My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Snickerdoodle trusted us immediately leaning in requesting pets, rolled on her belly, and when is stop to confirm her consent she would paw my arm requesting more. Her body language is wiggly except showed alert towards squirrels. She is a chew first, identify later kind of girl - falling lead fell she ate it, chewed on sticks, and bit the leash a few times but only when it was in her way of rubbing her back on the grass. I think the work you all have been doing with her shows HUGE improvement compared to her intake notes. I didn't experience any tension when handling and no leash biting during our walk.A bit about me:Snickerdoodle was found tied to a tree near a police precinct before she was brought to Manhattan ACC by NYPD. My ideal home:While we don't have a history on Snickerdoodle, we do know she's a young, enthusiastic, and social dog who will thrive with daily mental and physical activities. To keep her happily engaged and exercised, we recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and fun hide-and-seek games, along with plenty of physical exercise. With the right activities, her energy and enthusiasm will be positively directed!Good with other pets?Snickerdoodle has been reactive to dogs on walks and she was a little tense while greeting a helper dog through a gate at the shelter. We always suggest slow introductions with resident pets, and we offer a 2-week trial adoption to help you see if Snickerdoodle is a good fit with your family. Since ACC doesn't test with cats, we're not sure how she'd do with feline friends, but we can help you with tips and advice!Good with kids?Since Snickerdoodle came to us as a stray, we don't have much information about her past. However, we always recommend slow introductions, and not forcing Snickerdoodle to interact with people she doesn't want to interact with. How is my health?Snickerdoodle is apparently healthy. How are my leash manners?Snickerdoodle pulls mildly on the leash. She is nonreactive to humans and dogs on walks. What is my behavior assessment?Snickerdoodle has been assessed as a Level 3 dog. Snickerdoodle would need an experienced owner that can help her with her leash biting. During intake it was observed that Snickerdoodle was leash biting. We recommend walking her with a toy to dissuade her from grabbing the leash. Positive reinforcement, force-free training is advised to teach her to focus on you rather than grabbing the leash. She is a sweet little lady that will make a wonderful companion. Primary Color: Black Weight: 66 Age: 4yrs 6mths 0wks
