My story

Meet Melvin, a sweet, gentle soul who will completely steal your heart. He is the kind of dog who makes you feel like you’ve always had him by your side, like a long-lost friend finally coming home. Melvin is the definition of a good boy. He’s a calm, loving presence who fills the home with warmth. In the afternoons he will notice you are working and will quietly go and take a nap on his bed. At night, he lets you sleep peacefully, content to curl up beside you or on his bed, waiting for morning to greet you with his bright, infectious smile. He never demands attention; instead, he patiently waits for you to wake up and start the day together. And when it’s time for a walk, his joy is contagious. He loves to explore the world through his curious sniffs, savoring every scent with a wag of his tail. One of Melvin’s greatest joys is his beloved Kong chew toy. Watching him play fetch is a delight—he’ll eagerly chase after it, then bring it back with the kind of excitement that makes you laugh out loud. And those moments when he looks at you with his big, hopeful eyes, waiting for the next round? They are pure magic. Melvin is not just a good boy; he’s a wonderful companion. He’s potty trained and responsible, perfectly content to stay home alone, quietly waiting for you to return. He loves yogurt, peanut butter and chicken! Melvin is ready to find his foster/forever home, a place where he can give his whole heart to a family who will cherish him just as much as he will them. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
