My foster writes: Dash is the sweetest boy you'll ever meet! He certainly hasn't met a person he doesn't like - at home, on the street, or in stores he will happily receive pets from anyone who wants to offer them and flop at their feet for belly rubs! It is the cutest thing when he starts to snort and snore because he is so happy getting attention! Dash instantly made himself at home and wants to see his people at all times - preferring to flop right at your feet or lay on the cool hardwood instead of on the couch. He loves to show you his toys and get back scratches while he entertains himself and goes crazy for a bone or bully stick doing a funny little happy dance! Dash already knows several commands including Sit, Paw, and Down! He loves treats (especially cheese or anything with Peanut Butter) so will be great to train! Dash loves going on slow walks stopping to smell the flowers and even rest sitting by a bench for a while if he needs. Anyone would be the luckiest person to adopt this little velvet mini hippo! My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: Dash loves when anyone gives him attention and immediately flops at their feet for more! He particularly loves belly rubs. He goes on alert when he sees other dogs, but is easily distracted, and when dogs came close he was more tense than aggressive. (He might bark, but his tail would wag!). At one point we came across some lawn sprinklers and he loved playing in the stream and biting at the water! He sits on command, doesn't pull on his leash at all, and doesn't react to squirrels or other animals. He is such a sweet meatloaf. My adoption fee has been sponsored by a generous donor! My ideal home:Dash is a medium energy social dog. Dash was a bit anxious during his assessment, we recommend long walks and puzzle toys to help alleviate his anxiety. He has lived with children before, and his previous owners stated that he was friendly and outgoing. He would do best in a patient home that allows him to decompress at his own pace.Good with kids?Since Dash came to us as a stray, we don't have much information about his past. For now, we think he'll do best in a home without young children under 5, as he's still learning his basic manners. With a bit of patience and training, he'll be a wonderful addition to a loving family! How is my health?Dash has some dental concerns that our staff will discuss with you. Otherwise he is in good health. How are my leash manners?Dash does not pull on the leash and displayed no reactivity to humans. However, he became stiff when encountering unfamiliar dogs while on walks. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: White Weight: 57 Age: 5yrs 5mths 1wks
