Rocky B- what does the B stand for? Beautiful, Brave, and BFF Material! Rocky ended up at our shelter when his owner became allergic and no longer wanted him. He is now available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly. You can meet him any day from 10am-6pm. Interested fosters should email foster@acctphilly.org. Behavior: Per Volunteer 7/23/24: Volunteer Note: Rocky B is a sweet boy who was more interested in sniffing around outside. He occasionally came back and looked for a head scratch. I took him in the big run and he enjoyed running around exploring. Once I got him playing with a tennis ball his personality came out and he was trying to see how many he could put in his mouth. He did trade the ball for another and had no issues with me taking the ball from him. When returning to kennel he was easy to return and curled up on his bed resting his head on his tail. He did stand on the kennel door and pushed open the back door of his kennel. When talking with a kennel attendant the door had jammed and didnt lock. When he escaped his kennel he found me in the other row and was soliciting pets and affection. He was easy to leash and return after that. The back door of his kennel was checked and locked. Just keep an eye on the backside because he will stand on the door. Per Staff 7/19/24: Did a dog-meet with potential adopters. Rocky was pretty scared - initially approached with a lip lick and low head/tail, then refused to approach the fence and attempted to run in the opposite direction. Other dog was loose and not fixated on him. Unsure if it was a byproduct of shelter stress or he was just scared of that dog (a larger pitbull type). Per Staff 7/17/24: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Rocky B was standing near the door when I approached. He had soft eyes and a mid level wagging tail. He sniffed the leash curiously but would dodge when I tried to reach over his head. I was able to easily leash him when he stuck his nose in the door crack to sniff, he put his head through the loop and came right out. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally, got scared near the eval room and began to pancake but was easy to keep moving. HANDLING: Rocky B sniffed around the room for a few minutes. When I called him to me he bounced over with soft eyes and tried to jump right into my arms. He allowed some all over pets, and chased a tennis ball around the room. He didn't bring it back, but did drop it a few feet away from me. Rocky was a very happy and energetic guy in the room. He was social with multiple handlers and would lean in for pets and solicit often. Can get mouthy and jumpy but was still fairly easy to handle. PLAY: Engages in play, a bit mouthy! TOYS: Chases tennis balls, picked one up but dropped it quickly. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week.
