My foster writes: Symphony (he notoriously likes to be called papa lol) is such a sweet, gentle little guy. When first coming to my home he ran straight behind the refrigerator and stayed there for a couple hours. He remained on edge and timid with me for the first 2 months but would occasionally come out of his hiding place for a few head scratches. After letting him observe his surroundings & letting him do his own thing, he became more open to toys and wanting to be pet and held. In a matter of only 3 months he loves balling himself up on the edge of my bed to nap, engaging with some of his favorite toys like his laser pointer & ball of yarn and occasionally going out for a stroll in his carrier( he is a runner so make sure to secure in stroller or carrier) He loves nothing more than to head butt & call out to you when its time for is hourly head, chin & ear scratches. He's not the biggest fan of guest but give him a few head scratches and he will be a okay. He is such a lovable/ cuddly buddy that you always want around. He's thrives better in a home with no children or pets because of his personality being on the more shy side but other than that all he is looking for is a nice quiet home with lol (lots of loveeee!)A volunteer writes:Symphony came to us with nineteen other friends as their owner sadly passed away. That is a large number of kitties but all of them were responsively already spayed and neutered. Symphony behaves as a shy cat within our walls but who knows, he might have been a tiger in his home, or a lapcat or even a jolly fellow...Symphony is slowly unwinding, though and revealing his sweet and friendly sides. He soft blinks with encouraging words and leans into pets at the touch of my hand. He is a handsome big cat who strikes me as a gentle giant very likely to make a new owner glad to have a loyal and loving pet. Symphony is more than meets the eye. Spend a little bit of time with him and you will see what I saw, a really good cat! Come and meet Symphony at the Manhattan Care Center. What my friends at ACC say about me:Symphony tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Please check here for updated adoption hours.
