This playful and energetic boy has a knack for making everyone chuckle – meet Merle! Ever since he came to the Adoption Center, he's been spreading joy to all of us! Merle is a goofball whose personality is a perfect blend of friendly and entertaining! There is never a dull moment with him around. He loves to play, whether that’s with stuffed animals, tennis balls or his dog friends. Merle loves following his people around, and he is content to hang out wherever they are. Merle would love to be adopted by someone who can take him for leisurely strolls through the park, offer lots of pets and scratches, and would always have tasty treats for him. He is not just a silly pup, he's a loyal companion who has been patiently waiting for a home. With Merle’s playful, cuddly and social personality, he might just be the dog of your dreams! Merle needs to meet other dogs one-on-one first. Our staff would love to help make introductions! An Admissions and Placement Specialist can give you tips to help set Merle up for housetraining success. An Admissions and Placement Specialist will be able to provide you with information about Merle’s medical needs. If you’re ready to bring this amazing boy home, click the “Adopt Me” button to complete an application for Merle here - https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/dbfeacf4-e5d1-45fc-ba02-1c5b5473b50d *The ASPCA Adoption Center encourages a $150 suggested adoption fee when adopting an animal. This suggested adoption fee allows the ASPCA to continue our lifesaving work and help even more animals in need. We are grateful for any and all amounts given at the time of adoption.* For more information on adopting from the ASPCA, please visit www.aspca.org/adoptionsteps. **The ASPCA is committed to prioritizing the health and safety of the community, the animals in our care and our staff, and we are keeping a close eye on developments related to the COVID-19 crisis as they evolve. As such, the ASPCA Adoption Center in New York City is currently closed for in-person visitors. However, we are excited to offer remote adoptions using video conferencing! In-person meet-and-greets are also sometimes available or required for specific animals. Please check out our available cats and dogs above, and if one catches your eye, apply directly for him or her. An ASPCA Matchmaker will let you know if the animal you are interested in adopting is eligible for or requires an in-person meet-and-greet. Please note: Adoption applications are handled in the order they are received and submitting an adoption survey does not constitute a hold or guaranteed adoption. You can expect to receive automated emails updating you on your adoption status as our Matchmakers go through applications. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you find your match!** July 5, 2024, 9:06 am
