***Currently located in Guerrero, Mexico*** Hello friends, My name is Lilo! I am a four-year old itty bitty Chihuahua. A local animal advocate named Jimena found my big brother, Stitch, and me all alone in the area of her rescue organization Defensa y Rescate Animales. Stitch and I are both so tiny that it was very dangerous for us to be alone on the street. Other hungry stray dogs were looking at us like we might be their next meal! Thankfully, Jimena took us in right away. Based on our social temperament and overall seemingly good health, Jimena believed we must belong to a local family. She went looking for our owners but no one claimed us… I guess they didn’t want us anymore Though we were likely abandoned, I am so glad Stitch and I had each other. We are very close and this experience has only bonded us further! We do absolutely everything together and our favorite activity is just hanging out together and cuddling. Our foster mom Jimena raves about how mellow, calm, and sweet we are. We just love everyone and have already made so many friends with the humans, cats, and dogs here. Right when Jimena found us, we had our first formal vet appointment. I am happy to report that I am in great health! Unfortunately, the vet discovered that Stitch has a heart murmur which requires regular monitoring and medication. While everyone would love for us to stay together, the reality is that I have a much higher probability of being adopted than Stitch, who is older (the humans guess 8 years) and has a pre-existing condition. Stitch and I talked about it, and he wants only the best future for me, even if that means leaving him behind with his loving foster mom. I would be so grateful to have a family of my own but I am still holding out a shred of hope that there is a very special adopter our there who would consider opening his or her home to the both of us so we could stay together. We would give double the love after all! Thank you for reading our story and considering!
