Meet your new King of the castle! This cute little low rider was surrendered by his owner because their other dog was showing aggression towards King. King did nothing wrong and his owner had wonderful things to say about him: "he likes to chill on his belly, take walks, play with other dogs" and "he is a good dog; he likes running after a ball he will bring it close to you but will not give it back and he follows all commands." King has some bite wounds on his face and legs due to the other resident pup biting him. He doesn't seem to mind though, and is healing nicely! King is eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet him at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him. He loves going on strolls and walks great on the leash, he's very attentive to his handler. Once outside, he was mostly interested in sitting next to me and taking in the sights while enjoying some pets. He is an expert at the full body tail wag and gets so excited to see you, but calms right down afterwards. Overall, he's such a great guy and would make a fantastic addition to any family! Per Volunteer 4/21: King is a great dog to walk, he's got a brisk straight ahead pace but does not pull. He really enjoys exploring. Today we went to the track field and he had a great time. King's short legs do not hold him back and he is as athletic as any other dog! King loves to meet new people and does tend to jump, he is learning that the best way to get pets is if he has four paws on the ground. King is otherwise polite, does not climb all over you or give excessive kisses. Per Volunteer on 4/20: King was easy to get out of his kennel. Pulled a bit but once outside , he went to the bathroom immediately (noted to be very housetrained) and then after that - all good. He has a big head with inexplicable scarring, low rider with golden eyes. Very good / happy little guy. Walked him a few laps and he was easy to walk and easy to redirect. Took him to play yard where he roamed around and had a great time. Would come back to me periodically to say hi but then went back to having a good time. Allowed all over petting. Easy to get back in his kennel, and this little guy loves cheese. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week.
