Princess – 10-year-old female black Lab mix 56 pounds not yet spayed Background: Somehow separated from her palace and the rest of the royal family, her highness found herself on the streets of Sonoma County searching for her Prince Charming. What Princess’ Foster says: Princess is a sweet gentle girl. Although she is timid and not very confident she is always sweet and willing to be loved on. She probably would do best with a quiet house and someone around so that she can really come out of her shell. She is good on a leash, doesn’t guard her food and has a gentle mouth when getting treats. I think with time Princess will become a wonderful companion. What Princess’ Rescue Rep says: Not sure how much Lab this gal has in her… could be more border collie than Lab… Princess is a quiet and easy going dog. Loves her walks, loves her dog bed. Just happy to hanging out with her royal subjects. She is a little jealous (growly) when another dog is around is she is receiving affection or a tasty treat. We think that she may have been physically abused or scolded as she cowers and flinches a little if you raise your hand quickly above her head, but the tail quickly wags and she comes in for affection once she realizes that you mean well. Great dog for a retired person who wants some four-legged royalty around the home to spend time with. Medical Information: Princess is not yet spayed, but is current on vaccinations, microchipped and heartworm negative. We are investigating possible pancreatitis that was discovered by the shelter. She is a shade underweight, but her very good appetite will fix that real soon. Princess is located in: Petaluma. If you are interested in Princess, email Rescue Rep Liz, liz@jobshopsf.com. Our volunteers donate their personal time & phones so please only call during reasonable hours (8am - 8pm). The Rescue Rep identified in the dog posting is the only person with information about the dog - please only contact the designated volunteer. We do call everyone back within 2-3 days so please be patient. We work very hard to make the right matches for the dogs and for the new owners. We get 3-5 dogs per week; we do not have a facility where the dogs are housed, they are in foster homes throughout the Bay Area.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Princess, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
