Manjit Singh

Chief Operating Officer | Knock, Inc.

“My previous pet came into my life when I least expected an animal. I had just received difficult news, and it was as if he knew that and just hopped onto my lap and purred. It was such a beautiful surprise and instant bond; my wife went to get allergy shots as she was allergic to cats as we both wanted him inside with us as part of our family.”

The latest addition to our Board of Directors, Manjit Singh, is no doubt a firm believer of the power of unconditional love. He joins PetSmart Charities with a strong passion for our mission and a background to drive it to new heights.

As an experienced and forward-thinking executive, Manjit is currently Chief Operating Officer at Knock, Inc. He is currently a Board member at Emergn, Inc., Board Member at Upstream Security, and Board member at Soom, Inc. He was previously a member of the Audit Committee at Toyota Motors North America. Manjit is also an advisory board member for several startups and venture capital companies, including Tricentis, Inc., and Greylock Partners.

He joins us with a long track record of transforming businesses to achieve industry-leading growth and previously served as Chief Information Officer at Toyota Motors North America, The Clorox Company, Las Vegas Sands, Inc., and Chiquita Brands, Inc. Before joining Chiquita Brands, he spent several years at The Gillette Company leading the transformation of the Asia Pacific Information Technology group as regional Chief Information Officer. Before Gillette, he spent several years at Procter & Gamble, leading key technology initiatives across Information Technology, R&D, Sales, and Marketing.

Manjit has been honored with several recognitions for his business accomplishments and support for diversity, including receiving the Consumer Goods Technology Chief Information Officer of the Year and the National Diversity Council Top 50 Chief Information Officers awards in 2017.

Mission Moments

with Manjit

Why do you think pets are important in the lives of people?
I believe pets are family members with the gift of unconditional love, the ability to relieve mental stress and provide emotional support when needed.

How has your pet (or a previous pet) changed your life?
My last pet, a cat named Sunny, came into my life when I least expected it. It was such an instant bond as I had just received difficult news, and it was as if he knew that and just hopped onto my lap and purred. It was such a beautiful surprise and instant bond; my wife went to get allergy shots as she was allergic to cats, as we both wanted him inside with us as part of our family.

What makes you most excited about working with PetSmart Charities?
The ability to impact the lives of pets and their owners through the great work of this charity and to share my passion for ensuring pets are treated and cared for in the most humane ways.

Is there a Charities impact story that sticks out in your memory?
The Emergency Relief story was quite moving as many of us don’t think about what happens to pets during disasters, and there is less emphasis from the mainstream media on this subject.

What motivates you to want to be involved in the future of animal welfare?
Animals cannot speak for themselves but are such a vital part of our societies and families. Our ability to give them a voice through PetSmart Charities is very gratifying.
