My story

Meet Jasper - a handsome, sweet-natured boy with soft white fur and adorable black markings! Jasper is a gentle soul who seems to have been let down by people in the past. He is still learning to trust and building his confidence, but in just a few days of foster care, he has already made AMAZING progress! Jasper is happiest when he is with his people or has a friendly, compatible dog nearby. Once he feels safe, he settles beautifully and loves nothing more than lying beside you while you watch TV, relax, or work on the computer. He stays close to his person and truly seems to take comfort from simply knowing someone he trusts is nearby. There is so much to love about this sweet boy. He is sweet, gentle, affectionate, well behaved and eager to please. He already knows how to sit and absolutely loves treats - sometimes he sits politely, and sometimes those little legs practically jump for joy! He loves being close to his people, is comfortable and well behaved indoors, and is completely non-destructive. He does well going outside to potty and comes right back to the door. He gets along well with a compatible canine friend and happily ignores cats. He also rides calmly and quietly in the car, although he may experience some motion sickness. Jasper can be nervous around loud or unfamiliar noises and is somewhat fearful of being outside, so he will need a patient family who understands that confidence doesn't happen overnight. Gentle encouragement, routine and reassurance will help him continue to blossom. He is currently crated at night and when his foster leaves the house. He does best when he can see someone nearby, and his crate is kept in the bedroom at night. He may bark a little when left alone, so a home where crating can eventually be minimized would likely make him happiest. Jasper isn't looking for a perfect home - he's looking for a patient, loving home that will give him the time and reassurance he needs to discover just how wonderful life can be. He has already come so far in such a short time. Imagine how much more confident this beautiful boy could become when he knows, for sure, that he is finally home.
