My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Donna Age: Around 4 years old (Estimated to be born in 2022) Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Hound mix Color: Brown & White Weight: 14kg / 30.8lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I arrived at the city pound wearing diapers, and no one really knew how I had ended up alone. It was a very confusing and scary time for me, surrounded by unfamiliar sights and sounds without the comfort of a home or family. Thankfully, kind rescuers stepped in and gave me a second chance before it was too late. Now, I’m finally safe, cared for, and waiting patiently for a forever family who will love and cherish me the way I deserve.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m a sweet and lovely girl who truly loves people. I’m very food-motivated, which makes me eager to learn and quick to pick up new things. I’m a smart girl who focuses well on my handler and pays close attention to the people around me. I also read people’s energy very well and naturally respond to calm, positive guidance.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m super friendly with people and definitely more of a people-oriented pup. I absolutely love receiving pets, affection, and attention from my humans. I’m comfortable being picked up, and I’ll often show my belly almost immediately because I warm up so quickly and love connecting with people. · With Dogs: I’m generally more indifferent toward my dog friends. I get along well with the dogs at the care facility, but my heart is definitely more focused on people and human companionship. I could do well with another calm and respectful dog sibling that I can learn from and peacefully coexist with. I also do well in group settings at the care facility and have no issues being around other dogs in a balanced environment. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level and enjoy a healthy balance between outdoor activity and quiet relaxation. More than anything, I simply love being near my people and happily keeping them company throughout the day.   TRAINING & HABITS I can get very excited at the beginning of walks and may pull quite a bit at first. I am a hound mix after all, and my nose is always eager to explore every interesting scent around me. Once I’ve had a moment to settle in, though, I calm down nicely and frequently look up to my handler for guidance and reassurance, showing how connected and attentive I can be. I tend to feel more comfortable walking in quieter areas, as loud noises and busy streets can still startle me sometimes. With patience, encouragement, and continued exposure, I’m building confidence more every day. I have wonderful manners around food and don’t guard my meals from people or other dogs. I do have a very big appetite and get very excited about mealtime, so I’ll thrive with a little structure and routine during feeding times. I may bark occasionally when I’m looking for attention, but I settle down quickly once reassured. I’m also learning how to fully relax and settle nicely in my kennel, and I continue to make progress every day. I’m comfortable using both pee pads indoors and going potty outside, making me adaptable to different routines while I continue building great habits.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a sweet, affectionate girl with a lot of personality and so much love to give. Even though I can get excited and curious about the world around me, I’m also deeply people-oriented and naturally look to my humans for comfort, guidance, and connection. Volunteers and staff often laugh at how much I adore affection, especially butt scratches. During my profile photoshoot, I kept leaning in for more scratches and attention, completely soaking up every moment of love I could get. Once I feel comfortable, I become incredibly affectionate and love staying close to my people. I absolutely love to run and explore, and because I’m such a curious and adventurous girl, I can sometimes try to be a little escape artist when something catches my interest. I’ll do best with a secure environment and a family that understands my active, curious nature. I’m also a very smart girl who picks up commands and routines quickly. I genuinely enjoy learning and respond well to guidance, structure, and positive reinforcement. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, I know I’ll continue blossoming into an amazing lifelong companion full of joy, loyalty, and personality.   DONNA'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2733474##
