My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.AZTEC was from the Northern community of Grassy Narrows and he came south to find his forever family. He’s received his two vaccines including a rabies shot, a microchip and his vet has deemed him a healthy boy. The size he’ll grow to be is just an educated guess as we have no info on either of his parents. He’s more than likely a mixed breed but what he could be mixed is just a guess based on his looks. He’s a big energetic boy who’s just starting to play with a an assortment of toys and figuring out what fun they are. He’s very good natured and enjoys being around people and he follows his foster around the house.  AZTEC is just starting to get used to his crate as we feel he was never crated before. He is house trained and will let you know when he has to go outside for a bathroom break. He’s just started to go on leash walks and he gets pretty excited when he knows he’s going outside for  one. He does wear a front facing harness as he’s a strong boy and his foster feels that works best for him. He has good manners and will “sit” for  his meals and knows “wait” plus “gentle” for his treats. He hasn’t lived with children so we are saying if there’s any in the home they should be age 10 years plus due to him being a big excitable boy and he could easily knock them down. He does require a fenced-in yard so he can run around and play safely.  AZTEC’s ideal family would be an active one that loves to go on big hikes and walks so he can get the exercise he needs to burn off his puppy energy. He does well in a vehicle so will always be up for a drive, especially if it leads to an adventure for him. He’ll do well in a home with another dog as he’s met several and played really well with them. He’s not met a cat but if there’s one in the home they should be dog savvy and we highly recommend that when they meet he’s kept on a leash for the first few introductions. He would do well as an only pet in the home provided he’s not left alone for long periods of time.  Young dogs are cute, playful and fun but also require a lot of time, patience and dedication to training. We do need his adopter to be in agreement to take him for obedience training to help him to become the best adult boy possible. If AZTEC sounds like he’ll suit your family and lifestyle then please submit an adoption application to meet him. We will also consider foster-to-adopt for him to the right home.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 26, 2026, 5:07 pm
