Meet Mama, a resilient and affectionate soul who is ready to find the gentle, loving home she truly deserves. As the proud mother of Suzy and Buster, Mama is a sweet girl with a wonderful, playful streak just waiting to shine. While her painful past involving abuse by men has left her initially cautious and reserved, she is a total ham once she feels safe and comfortable. She naturally finds comfort in female companionship, handles being touched well once she knows you, and is incredibly treat-motivated, which will be a fantastic tool for helping her build confidence and learn new routines. Mama is a quiet, non-destructive girl with a medium energy level who already loves car rides and is a peaceful companion who doesn't bark. This lovely dog thrives when she is around her canine friends and absolutely adores her buddy Bronx. Because she relies heavily on his guidance, a patient home that could adopt both Mama and Bronx together would be an absolute dream for her confidence, though she would also do well in a house with another confident, friendly dog. Mama is still perfecting her house-training and is currently learning to overcome her fear of walking on a leash, so she will need a home with a yard rather than an apartment setting. Because of her shy nature, a calm household with adults or older children would be ideal. With a little extra patience, time, and plenty of treats, Mama is ready to blossom into the fiercely loyal and joyful family member she was always meant to be.
