Keziah (20260826-03)

My story

Keziah (pronounced kuh-ZYE-uh) is a beautiful Husky mix with striking blue eyes and one of the sweetest personalities you could ask for. Keziah originally strayed onto a family's property, and they decided to keep her knowing she was pregnant. After she delivered seven puppies, caring for Mom and her babies became more than they could manage, and Keziah and her litter were brought to us. Keziah was an absolutely wonderful mother to those seven babies. Sadly, despite everything our staff did to help them, four of her puppies passed away while at the shelter. Her remaining three puppies were able to go to rescue where they could receive specialized care. And now, after spending so much time taking care of everyone else, it's finally Keziah's turn. This girl is a little angel. She is calm and well behaved in her kennel, does a fantastic job keeping it clean, and walks beautifully on leash. Once she gets out of her kennel she gets a little excited-which honestly just looks like a young dog thrilled to finally have some freedom and attention. Keziah has done fantastic meeting other dogs. Very energetic dogs can make her a little nervous at first, but given a little time, she warms up quickly and settles in. She is incredibly affectionate and absolutely loves climbing into your lap for a quick nap. Apparently nobody informed this girl that she isn't technically a lap dog. Keziah is also very food motivated and eager to learn. During her time with us, she has already learned "sit" and "shake," and she is always happy to work for a snack. Keziah has already been a stray, a mother, and watched her babies leave her behind. Now she deserves the chance to simply be someone's dog-to have her own bed, her own family, and a lap she can fall asleep in whenever she wants. She spent the beginning of her life being a mama. We'd love for the rest of it to finally be all about Keziah.
