My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Dalbong Age: 2 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo mix Color: White Weight:  12kg / 26.4lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was rescued from a city pound where I had sadly been placed on the euthanasia list simply because there wasn’t enough space. My life was at risk through no fault of my own, but thankfully, rescuers stepped in just in time and gave me the second chance I deserved. Now those uncertain days are behind me, and I’m ready to begin a brand new chapter with a forever family who will cherish me and show me what it truly means to belong.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m even cuter in person, and the staff and volunteers are always complimenting me on how elegant and beautiful I am! I’m still learning about the world and discovering just how wonderful life can be, so my personality continues to blossom a little more each day. One of the quickest ways to my heart is definitely through treats! I’m very food motivated, which helps me open up more quickly and makes me eager to learn new things. With patience, positive reinforcement, and plenty of encouragement, I have so much potential to grow into a confident, loving, and wonderful companion.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I enjoy meeting new people, although I can be a little shy when we first meet. Luckily, the way to my heart is pretty simple: treats! I’m very food motivated, and a few tasty snacks can help me feel comfortable and build trust quickly. Give me a little time to settle in, and you’ll soon see my sweet and affectionate side come out. Once I feel safe with you, I’m happy to enjoy plenty of cuddles, pets, and affection. I’m also comfortable being picked up and held. · With Dogs: I may be a little shyer with people at first, but around my dog friends, my social side really shines! I love greeting new dogs, making new friends, and enjoying their company. I generally feel most comfortable with dogs around my size and would likely enjoy having a friendly canine companion to share my days with. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown. A cat test can be arranged upon request to ensure the best fit.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level. I enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring, and having fun, but once I’ve had my activity and excitement, I’m more than happy to come inside and relax comfortably indoors.   TRAINING & HABITS I can pull on leash at times, but overall I follow my handler’s lead nicely and am improving every day. I feel most confident walking in quieter areas, as busy streets and passing cars can still make me a little nervous. With patience, positive experiences, and continued practice, I’m gradually becoming more comfortable with the world around me. I have great manners around food and don’t guard my meals from either people or other dogs. I also know how to settle and rest calmly in my kennel. I prefer doing my potty business outdoors, though I may mark when I’m adjusting to a new environment. With a consistent routine and gentle guidance, I’m sure I’ll settle into my new home beautifully.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: • A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment • A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout • A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together • A family that will love and cherish me forever • Understanding of my initial shy nature and willing to be patient with love and kindness while I come out of my shell   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a sweet and gentle girl with so much potential waiting to shine. I may be a little shy with people and unfamiliar environments at first, but treats are definitely the way to my heart, and I open up beautifully once I feel safe. My confidence is growing every day, and with patience and positive experiences, I know I’ll continue blossoming. My dog friends bring out my social side, and I especially enjoy the company of dogs around my size. I’m looking for a patient and loving family who will let me discover the world at my own pace and celebrate all the little milestones along the way.
