My story

Meet Milo, a sweet lab mix who has overcome a difficult start and is ready for a comfortable home of his own. Milo spent his life living outdoors before coming into care. When he was rescued, he weighed only around 40 lbs and was recovering from significant injuries after being hit by a vehicle. He underwent surgery on March 6, 2026 to repair a broken hip socket and a femur that had been fractured in two places. He also arrived with mange and rickets. Thankfully, Milo has made an incredible recovery - he is now fully healed, weighs over 50 lbs, and is doing wonderfully. Despite everything he has experienced, Milo is an incredibly sweet boy who loves people and is good with kids, dogs and cats. He walks well on leash and, although he gets along with other animals, he doesn't need another dog in his future home and would likely be perfectly content soaking up all the attention as an only dog. Milo loves his food and does show food-related resource guarding, so his future family will need to manage meals and high-value food items appropriately. He currently eats separately, and food and chew items are not left lying around. Outside of food-related situations, he is described as a very sweet boy. After spending so much of his life outdoors and overcoming some major challenges, Milo deserves a safe, loving home where he can finally enjoy the comforts of being a cherished family dog.
