My story

AGE: 6 monthsSEX: FemaleBREED: Northern MixENERGY LEVEL: Medium-HighDOG FRIENDLY: Yep!CAT FRIENDLY?: UntestedKID FRIENDLY?: Yep!FOSTER IG: @puppytrtMeet Thumper! This sweet, affectionate puppy is the perfect combination of cuddly companion and playful adventurer. She absolutely loves being with her people and is always happy to soak up attention, whether that means curling up for snuggles or following you around the house. Food is the way to Thumper's heart, and she's incredibly motivated to learn, already mastering commands like sit, down, and stay. In fact, she'll patiently hold a perfect stay while staring straight at a treat! Around the house she's a wonderfully easy puppy - quiet, relaxed, and content to lounge by your side, making her a joy to have around.Thumper is friendly with people and quickly wins everyone over with her gentle nature. She may be a little shy when meeting someone new, but it doesn't take her long to warm up and happily accept affection. She's done well meeting guests in the home and has met children around 10 years old, greeting them with the same sweet, friendly personality. She has also had a successful, controlled introduction with another dog and would likely do well living with a canine companion given slow, thoughtful introductions. Thumper currently lives in a busy downtown environment and handles city life beautifully. She's unfazed by most hallway and street noises, is house trained, and is wonderfully crate trained - sleeping soundly through the night and relaxing comfortably when left home alone for up to six hours. Her only little quirk is a minute of dramatic moaning when she first goes into her crate before happily settling in for a nap.Like any young dog, Thumper is still learning and will benefit from continued guidance as she grows. She's making great progress with her leash skills and is very food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. On walks, her reactions to other dogs depend on the individual dog - she's calm around some, becomes excited and wants to go say hello to others, and can feel a little nervous when certain dogs approach. With continued positive reinforcement and slow, structured introductions, she's likely to continue building confidence and learning calm leash manners. Interestingly, squirrels and birds don't capture her attention at all - she's much more interested in the dogs she encounters. With her sweet nature, intelligence, and eagerness to learn, Thumper has all the makings of a wonderful companion. If you're looking for an affectionate, easygoing puppy who's already mastered many of the basics and is ready to continue learning with her forever family, Thumper may be the perfect addition to your home!Think you might be the right fit to provide a loving home for Thumper?
