My story

Roux is a stunning American Bulldog mix from Tennessee. With his beautiful brindle and white coat and soulful eyes, Roux has a presence thats hard to missbut its his journey and his heart that truly make him special.About a year and a half ago, Roux was found in a heartbreaking situationseverely underweight, with little hair, and coming from an abusive home where his future was uncertain. What was meant to be a short-term rescue turned into a journey of healing, patience, and love. With time, training, and dedication, Roux has transformed into the incredible dog he is today.Roux is a social, affectionate boy who loves people and thrives on connection. Hes great with women, kids, and other dogs, and while he can be a little hesitant with men at first (sometimes giving a bark or two), he warms up quickly and becomes a total sweetheart. He even attends doggy daycare once a week to keep up his social skillsand he does great!Hes house trained, crate trained, and rides wonderfully in the car (best in a kennelotherwise he might try to climb into your lap for extra cuddles!). He walks well on a leash and isnt reactive to people or other dogs, making outings enjoyable and manageable.Roux has a medium-to-high energy level and loves to let loose with the occasional zoomies, so a home with a yard would be ideal for him to stretch his legs and play. While hes not destructive now, its worth noting how far hes comehe previously struggled with anxiety but, with the help of a trainer, has made incredible progress and is now a much more confident and relaxed dog.Hes not a match for homes with cats, but he would do beautifully in a home where he can continue to build on his confidence and feel safe and loved. He doesnt require another dog in the home but enjoys canine friends.Roux is neutered, healthy, and ready for the next chapter of his lifea forever home that will give him the stability, love, and companionship he truly deserves. This boy has overcome so much and has so much love left to give. If youre looking for a loyal, resilient, and deeply affectionate companion, Roux might just be your perfect match.
