My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Baekon Age: About 5 Years Old Gender: Female (Spayed) Breed: Corgi – Jindo Mix Color: White Weight: 13.8kg / 28lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY In 2024, my life changed when my left front leg became caught in a trap. I was frightened, hurt, and unable to free myself on my own. Thankfully, someone found me before it was too late and helped me get the care I needed. That difficult day became the beginning of a new chapter. Since then, I’ve been healing, learning to trust, and discovering that the world can be a much kinder place than I once knew. Now I greet each day with a hopeful heart and a quiet excitement for what might come next.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Spayed & healthy with no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY Hi, I’m Baekon. I’m a beautiful girl with a gentle heart and a quiet, thoughtful nature. I’m not the type to demand attention, but if you glance my way, you’ll often catch me watching you from nearby with a softly wagging tail. It’s my own sweet way of saying, “I’m happy you’re here.” New places can feel a little overwhelming at first, so I may need some time to settle in and understand my surroundings. With a little patience and kindness, I gradually relax, grow more confident, and begin showing my affectionate side. I’m also wonderfully polite with other dogs and have a calm, friendly way of interacting with them. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted companion who forms deep trust through patience and understanding, I would love a home where I can quietly blossom and share my gentle spirit with you.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I can be a little shy at first, but it doesn’t take me long to warm up—especially if treats are involved. Once I feel comfortable, I happily accept gentle touch and enjoy being close to my people. I’m generally comfortable being picked up, though in unfamiliar environments I may prefer a little extra time to settle in before being handled that way. I haven’t had the chance to meet young children yet, so I may simply need patient introductions and gentle guidance as I experience something new. · With Dogs: I’m a naturally social dog who loves meeting new canine friends—I’ll happily walk right up, say hello, and invite them to play. Big dogs, small dogs, or dogs my own size, I greet everyone with the same friendly and open-hearted attitude. Making friends comes easily to me, and I enjoy sharing positive, playful interactions with dogs of all shapes and sizes. · With Cats: My reaction to cats is unknown   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have moderate energy level – I enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring at a comfortable pace, then settling down quietly once I’ve had my fun. Walks are something I generally do very well with—I stay nicely connected to my person and rarely pull on the leash. I can be a little alert or cautious in new situations, but I continue to follow along well and handle outings with a calm, cooperative attitude.   TRAINING & HABITS I’m gentle and trusting with people around my food and feel comfortable sharing space during mealtimes. When it comes to other dogs, I prefer a little personal space while eating and may quietly communicate that boundary if another dog comes too close. I currently share well with a familiar canine companion, though thoughtful mealtime management is always a good idea. I’m generally very quiet and rarely bark, I settle nicely in a kennel I usually prefer doing my bathroom breaks outdoors. Car rides can feel a little intimidating at first, so I feel most comfortable when someone gently lifts me into the car and helps me get settled.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that will provide me with a safe haven – where I can decompress, be myself in a stable environment A family that understands my past and is patient with me throughout A family that enjoys indoor and outdoor time together A family that will love and cherish me forever   SPECIAL NOTES I lost my left front leg after a difficult injury, but I continue to enjoy life with grace and resilience. It doesn’t define who I am—in fact, most people are first captivated by my beauty and gentle personality. I’m currently receiving ongoing care to ensure I stay as comfortable and healthy as possible    BAEKON'S YOUTUBE PLAYLIST   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.co ##2751133##
