My story

Meet Sefi 1 year old • 55 lbs • Great Pyrenees/Lab mix? (best guess) Sefi’s story started in heartbreaking conditions. She was found living in an old chicken coop, underweight and struggling to survive while raising puppies with little to no food source of her own. Somehow, despite everything, she kept her babies alive. And now? It’s finally Sefi’s turn to be cared for. Since arriving in foster care, Sefi has absolutely blossomed. She has gained healthy weight, discovered the comfort of a home, and is learning that life can be safe and predictable. Every day, her personality shines a little brighter. With her soft expression, feathered coat, and gentle, thoughtful nature, we think Sefi may have some Great Pyrenees mixed with Lab — though her breed makeup is ultimately just our best guess. What we do know for certain is that she is an incredibly sweet dog. Sefi is a sensitive girl who responds beautifully to calm guidance. A soft “ah-ah” is usually all it takes to redirect her, and she genuinely wants to do the right thing. She’s doing wonderfully with house training. She recognizes her name and has learned several words, including “outside,” “walk,” “kennel,” and possibly even “water.” Walks are Sefi’s favorite thing in the world. They help build her confidence, and she loves when her people talk to her about what she’s seeing. Her foster has been helping her learn about “dogs” and “bikes” on walks, and once she understands what something is, she relaxes and keeps moving right along. She’s not so sure about balls yet, but stuffed animals? Those are definitely approved. Everyone who meets Sefi falls in love with her sweet nature. She has a soft, soulful personality that makes you want to protect her and cheer for her all at once. Watching her discover comfort, safety, and affection has been incredibly rewarding. Sefi is ready for a family that will continue showing her the good side of life — one walk, one stuffed animal, and one gentle reassurance at a time. Breed mix is a best guess based on appearance and behavior. We cannot guarantee breed makeup. All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee $250.
