My story

A loyal shadow, fetch champion, and devoted best friend — Mia is the kind of pup who makes everyone around her feel special. She lost her beloved owner unexpectedly, and since then she has been living with a close family friend who stepped in to keep her safe and loved. Now she’s ready to find her forever home where she can give someone the same loyal companionship and unconditional love she gave her first person. Mia is a joyful, confident pit bull mix with a heart of gold and wonderful manners. Her owner invested a lot of time in training when she was young, and it shows. She’s trusting, well-socialized, and incredibly tuned in to her humans. Her favorite things in life are simple: snuggling, playing fetch (she truly brings the ball back every time), going on walks, enjoying the outdoors or lounging with her people, and following them from room to room like a happy little shadow. Mia is generally pretty quiet — she doesn’t bark at everyday sounds, but when she’s excited or trying to tell you something, she “talks” in the funniest ways. She usually lands somewhere between a donkey braying and a dog singing, and it makes it utterly impossible not to laugh! Mia loves meeting new people and has wonderful social skills. She’s friendly with men, women, and children alike, and tends to bond quickly with everyone who enters her life. She communicates and socializes well with other dogs of all sizes and grew up making frequent trips to the dog park. Mia could absolutely thrive as an only dog because she bonds deeply with her humans, but she would likely also enjoy a friendly dog companion to play and hang out with. At about 80 pounds, Mia is a big bundle of tail-wagging love who sometimes forgets her size, so a home with smaller children would simply need to keep that in mind. What Mia wants most in the world is simple: a person (or family) to love and stay close to. She is loyal, forgiving, easy-going, and endlessly affectionate — the kind of dog who will make your house feel like home. She is currently being lovingly fostered while we search for the right forever match. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will follow you anywhere, play ball with enthusiasm, and curl up happily beside you at the end of the day, Mia may be your perfect girl. Please go to www.azpawsandclaws.com to fill out an adoption interest application. Thank you for rescuing!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mia, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
