My story

QUICK FACTS Name: Chestnut Age: 8 months old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo mix Color: Brown Weight: 14kg / 31lbs Microchipped, Fully Vaccinated Up to Date, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY I was saved from a heartbreaking neglect case, but even through those hard days, my gentle spirit stayed alive. Now that I’m safe, I’m ready to leave all the sadness behind and embrace a future filled with love, comfort, and family.   MY HEALTH All vaccinations up-to-date Neutered & no known health issues   MY PERSONALITY I’m a super sweet boy who adores people and gets along wonderfully with my dog friends! Even with my neglected past, I’ve held onto my gentle heart — I trust easily and pick up new commands faster than you’d expect.   MY SOCIAL SKILLS · With People: I’m super friendly with people and love receiving affection. I greet everyone with curiosity and happy tail wags, and when volunteers come to say hi, I like to bury my head into their arms for comfort. I can get a little scared when hands reach toward my neck or collar — likely because of my past, when I was neglected and chained outside as a guard dog. But aside from that, I gladly accept pets and enjoy being close to people. · With Dogs: I love playing with other dogs and making new friends! I usually get along best with dogs my size or smaller, and I’m a total peacekeeper — even if another dog is a little rude, I prefer to walk away rather than start any conflict. · With Cats: I haven’t had much experience with cats, so it’s hard to say how I’d react — my response is still to be determined.   ENERGY LEVEL & ACTIVITY I have a moderate energy level, especially for a young pup. I enjoy spending time outdoors, but I’m just as happy to come inside and snuggle once I’ve had my little adventure.   TRAINING & HABITS I walk nicely on leash and follow my handler’s lead well. I don’t guard my food from people or other dogs, and I’m generally a very quiet boy—I rarely bark unless I’m looking for a little attention. I rest calmly in my kennel and can potty both indoors and outdoors, though with a consistent walk routine, I’ll naturally prefer going outside. In a brand-new environment, I might do a bit of marking at first, but that settles as I get comfortable.   MY IDEAL HOME I’m searching for a patient, loving family who can help me grow and become the best version of myself. I’ll thrive in a home with: A family that offers a fun, structured, and safe environment. A family that enjoys indoor & outdoor activities and spending quality time together. A family that understands I’m a young pup and have lots to learn. I will need continued guidance and gentle encouragement so I can grow into a fine young gentleman.   SPECIAL NOTES I’m a gentle, affectionate boy with a resilient spirit despite my past. I can be a little cautious when hands come near my collar, so I need gentle, patient approaches. In a new environment, I might mark a bit until I feel fully settled. With calm guidance and lots of love, I’ll show you just how loyal and sweet I can be—I’m ready to be your devoted companion! I’m considered a level 2 rescue dog, which means I’ll need a few days to a week to feel fully comfortable in my new home. For my safety, I’ll need to be double-leashed with a collar and harness whenever I go outside.   Chestnut's YouTube Playlist   Apply to foster or adopt: https://www.welcomedogkorea.org For Inquiries: info@welcomedogkorea.com ##2579601##
