My story

ALL ABOUT ME Name: Igeum Age: 5.5 years old Gender: Male (Neutered) Breed: Jindo–Retriever Mix Weight: 21kg / 46lbs Microchipped, Vaccinated, Dewormed   MY RESCUE STORY  I had a rough start in life, living in a neglected dog farm in Geumsan-gun. Days were long and lonely, and I often wondered if anyone would ever care for me. Thankfully, in 2024, kind rescuers found me and gave me a second chance at life. Since then, I’ve been learning to trust and enjoy love, and now I’m ready to find a family who will shower me with care and affection.   MY PERSONALITY  Hi! I’m Igeum. I’m a calm and friendly dog who enjoys spending time with people. I can be a little shy at first, but if you offer me a treat, I’ll happily take it and warm up quickly. I’m very smart and I love gentle pets. I don’t guard my food around people or other dogs, and I rarely bark. I have a cozy, low-energy side too—I love lying on a soft bed or blanket and resting calmly. My left front leg is missing, so I can’t do rough play or long walks, but normal walks and regular exercise are just right for me.   SOCIAL SKILLS  • With People: I’m a little shy at first, but if you offer me a treat, I’ll happily take it and quickly become your friend. I haven’t met children under 13 yet, so I’m still learning how to interact with them. I prefer not to be lifted by putting arms under my belly, but I love gentle pets and spending time close to people. • With Dogs: I approach new dogs to say hello, but I usually don’t play with them. I can feel overwhelmed by very energetic dogs. If another dog provokes me, I might react defensively, so it’s important to be cautious when I meet new dogs for the first time. • With Cats: I haven’t had the chance to meet cats yet, so my reaction to them is unknown.   ENERGY & HABITS  • Low energy: I enjoy lounging and short strolls • Crate trained, quiet indoors • Walks well on leash, no pulling • Food motivated and smart • May need help managing my big appetite   MY IDEAL HOME  • A loving and patient family who can give me lots of attention and affection • A calm home with cozy spaces where I can rest comfortably • Short walks and gentle exercise that suit my leg condition • A home where introductions to other dogs are done carefully, respecting my comfort level • A family who can help manage my diet since I have a big appetite  SPECIAL NOTE  I’m still learning to get along with other dogs, so group walks or playtime with new dogs can be a little stressful for me. My legs are a bit uncomfortable, so short walks are best for me. I spend a lot of time lying down and I really enjoy having a cozy bed or blanket. I have a big appetite, so my weight needs to be monitored carefully. I’m considered a level 2 rescue dog.   Igeum's YouTube Playlist ##2567828##
