My story

My name is Onyx, and I am a 1-year-old terrier, labrador and bully mix. I am a playful girl, smart, curious, a bit shy but ready to make human friends and eager to be cared for and loved. I am a good pooch, and an active person would be my ideal human!I have become attached to many volunteers at the shelter, and I am responding to ‘sit’ commands and to my name most of the time when I am called. I start out somewhat shy and enjoy making human friends. I like structure, kindness, and consistency. I really enjoy sitting close to my person for body rubs and attention. Here I feel loved, safe and form close bonds with people. I enjoy calm moments as much as I enjoy playtime.I was adopted but it turns out I wasn’t a good fit with the folks. Now I am feeling anxious after returning to the shelter a few weeks ago as the shelter noise makes me uneasy. Clear structure and gentle guidance will help me feel confident. I would thrive as the only dog in a loving home. I am a cautious girl looking for patient humans.I am spayed, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines.Are you able and ready to provide me with patience, structure and love?
