Name: Niklas Age: 1yr Gender: Male Breed: Collie/Lab mix Weight: 34lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly:  Yes Child friendly: Yes House trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Energy level: moderate Temperament: Shy at first then a lover Requirement: Not suited for apartment living, but would thrive in a town home or condo Adoption Fee: $400+tax To adopt, go to:  www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html From the Foster Family: Niklas and his brother Natz(also with MS) and sister Nesta(already adopted with MS) came up to a guys home in Alabama as strays.  Their owner was never found and the man was so nice to keep these 3 till HASRA found a rescue for them.  He had to travel a lot, so they were not socialized with other dogs and people very well.  Niklas is shy at first, but give him a few minutes and he is trusting to have you pet him.  He loves, loves to be petted.  I think he is making up for lost time in the petting category.  He is only 1 yr old and 34lbs and I don’t think he will get much bigger.  He sits for me to put a harness on him and walks very well and loves his time out with the other dogs.  I walk 3 foster dogs at a time and he follows the pack very well.  He is good in his crate but is also good in the house roaming freely.  This guy is going to blossom into a wonderful family dog.  He is handsome and the perfect size and a nice wavy coat.  Please fill out an application and come and meet him.  You won’t be disappointed. About Me:  I am so glad to be in MN!!!  I loved the man that saved myself and my siblings, but he was gone so much it was lonely.  I am in a house with 6 other dogs and we have full roam of the house.  I like going out to the back yard and enjoy the walks we do everyday.  I thought it might be a little cooler up here but we have air conditioning in the house and that feels good. There are a couple puppies here for a couple days.  They bug me a little bit.  They take up all the attention of my new buddy here.  I would like a family that will be a little slow with me and show me all the love I am looking for.  I would love to go on adventures to help me feel more comfortable with strangers.  There have been 6 strangers in the house since I got here and I have let all 6 pet me.  I am actually proud of myself.  Please fill out an application and let's meet.  Thanks Niklas    August 6, 2025, 5:01 pm
