My story

Chance is a 3-year-old husky mix rescued from a hoarding situation in Navajo County, where over 50 husky mixes were living on one property. Coming from that environment, he’s learning that he doesn’t have to compete with others for attention or love anymore and that —there’s plenty to go around just for him. Chance is settling into foster life, and is ready to find his forever home! When Chance first arrived, he was scared and unsure, but he quickly warmed up and became part of the family. True to his husky nature, he’s playful, affectionate, and a bit of an escape artist. Wire and plastic crates have been no match for him in his foster home, but a sturdy impact crate does the trick. He has not shown any destructive behaviors while left out, however the crate has been helpful in managing his separation anxiety. He has medium energy, loves walks, fetch, belly rubs, and cuddling with his humans, and he’s mastered the doggy door like a pro. He can be selective about his canine friends since he wants all the human love for himself—but overall he’s shown great progress as is learning to share space and attention. He’s living with other large dogs now and is doing much better with time and guidance. Chance would thrive in many types of homes, from active families to quieter households, as long as he gets the companionship and structure he needs. He’s loves to snuggle with his humans at night and would likely do well with respectful kids (7+ just to be safe). Because of his anxiety, a home with another playful dog would be ideal, but with the right family who’s around often, he could do well as an only dog too. Don’t miss your Chance to bring home this loving boy – he’s ready for his forever family! Adoption app: https://azhuskyrescue.com/adoption-application/
