My story

Meet Doobie Doo – The Big Goofy Pup with a Heart of Gold If you’re looking for a joyful, silly, loving best friend who brings energy and smiles wherever he goes—Doobie Doo might just be your guy. Breed: Doodle mix Age: 1 year Weight: 76 lbs Energy level: High (young and active) Medical: Tested positive for Lyme disease, asymptomatic Housebroken: 98% Crate trained: In training – should be crated when left alone due to his age Leash trained: Not yet – needs work Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Yes Good with kids: Yes – over 10 years old (due to size and playful energy) Fence needed: Preferred, or someone committed to daily exercise Personality: Happy-go-lucky, goofy, social, and eager to please About the Breed: Doodle Mix Doodles, often a mix of Poodle and another breed like a Golden Retriever or Labrador, are known for their intelligence, affectionate nature, and high energy levels. These dogs thrive on attention, exercise, and mental stimulation. Their social, trainable personalities make them wonderful companions for active families or individuals willing to provide structure and enrichment. Personality & Ideal Home Doobie Doo is a big, lovable goofball who radiates joy. He loves toys, other dogs, and being around his people. Still a puppy at heart, he’s eager to learn and just needs someone to show him the ropes. He is: Nearly housebroken Crate training in progress Very friendly with people, dogs, and cats A fan of toys and interactive play High-energy and needs daily exercise Learning leash manners Gentle and silly, but his size and energy mean he’s best with kids over 10 He would do best with: A fenced yard or an adopter committed to daily activity Someone experienced with Doodles or high-energy breeds An active household that can offer him structure and training Another friendly dog (optional, but he enjoys the company) A family ready to laugh and play with a big-hearted goof Doobie Doo is ready to become someone’s loyal shadow, hiking buddy, and couch companion after playtime. His loving nature and joyful spirit are sure to bring endless smiles to the right home. Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. To ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!July 20, 2025, 5:47 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Doobie Doo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
