My story

Meet Nova, a gentle soul searching for a true connection. Behind her stunning warm honey eyes is a heart trying to make sense of this new place she found herself in just days ago. When we met, Nova was still taking it all in, unsure of the unknown and a little hesitant about what came next.At first, she wasn’t quite certain about my invitation for a walk, but a quiet moment kneeling beside her was all it took to let her know she had a friend. Heading outside, Nova moved through the world with a quiet grace, posing no threat to anyone or anything. Even the other dogs barely glanced her way, as if they too sensed her gentle spirit. Each day, as more volunteers greet her with soft words and pockets full of treats, I hope we’ll see Nova’s true self begin to shine through. She will need time and patience to find her footing and trust in new people, new routines, and a new home, but the beauty and love within her are there, just waiting to bloom. If you appreciate the quiet magic of a tender soul who simply wants to belong, come meet Nova. She is ready to find her person and the connection she has been searching for all along.Nova is reserved for adopters who live outside Prince George’s County, Maryland.Prince George’s County Animal Shelter3750 Brown Station RoadUpper Marlboro, Maryland301.780.7200HoursTues-Fri , 11am-7pmSaturday, 10am-4pmCLOSED FOR VISITS Sunday + MondayArrive ONE HOUR before closing
