Lovey

My story

Lovey is just as sweet as her name suggests. When approached in her kennel, she gently crawled forward for a treat, and that pretty much sums her up: quiet, kind, and eager to connect. This lovely girl walks beautifully on leash, enjoys calm exploration, and soaks up affection. She is polite and patient around new people and environments, taking it all in with gentle curiosity. However, once we got outside, she was super loose & wiggly & affectionate! She loves treats, takes them gently and even hopped up on the bench next to me to get some extra pets. She’s an absolute doll. 07/18/2025 volunteer notes: Lovey was in a bottom side back kennel. I approached the kennel and she was laying down. I took out a cookie and she crawled forward. She took the treat gently. I opened the kennel door and easily leashed her. Lovey walks very well on leash. She mostly loose leash walks. Her body was mostly loose and her tail with mid level wagging. In the yard, Lovey explored the yard. She solicited attention and allowed me to pet her all over. She showed no interest in toys and took treats gently. We entered the volunteer office where there was a lot of movement/action. She sniffed other volunteers. I took her over to one side of the table and offered her treats which she took gently. While I was talking to other volunteers, she stood patiently. She returned to her kennel with no issue.
