My story

**Note: She is in a foster home in Vancouver. Background: Jinju and her brother, Winnie, along with their mother, were rescued from a city pound in Chuncheon, Korea, last November. Since then, she’s come such a long way. After spending time at our partner boarding house with other rescue dogs, Jinju flew to Canada and is now living in a foster home in Vancouver, where she lives peacefully with two cats. Personality and Socialization: Jinju is a quiet and gentle girl. She can be shy around strangers at first, but with a little patience, she warms up and enjoys spending time with people she trusts—especially women, whom she tends to feel more comfortable with. She gets along well with other dogs of all sizes, as long as they’re friendly. Jinju is also living peacefully with two cats in her foster home—she’s gentle and respectful around them. While new situations can make her a bit unsure, she will adjust with time and encouragement. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality begins to shine. She wags her tail to greet familiar faces and happily accepts gentle pets and affection. Behaviour: Jinju can be nervous with car rides, vet visits, and bath time—but she allows her trusted person to handle it calmly. She may need reassurance, but she’s gentle and cooperative when she feels safe. She has limited experience with leash walks and may hesitate at first when going outside. But once she's out, her curiosity takes over, and she begins to enjoy exploring her surroundings. A calm, confident dog companion would be a great support for her—helping her build confidence and learn through gentle mirroring. At home, Jinju is very quiet and non-destructive. She doesn’t bark much and is easy to have around—just a peaceful little presence. With love and patience, Jinju will blossom into a loyal and gentle companion. Health and Diet: Jinju is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She takes monthly parasite preventative and eats dry kibble twice a day and has no known allergies. Ideal Home: Jinju truly shines when she’s with other dogs. She’s happier, more playful, and noticeably more comfortable when she’s not alone. For this reason, we’re looking for a home with at least one friendly and gentle dog—honestly, the more the better! Canine companionship gives her confidence and joy. A detached home with a secure, fenced backyard would be perfect for her, giving her a safe place to explore and enjoy outdoor time without pressure. Her ideal adopter is someone with rescue dog experience who understands the importance of patience, time, and gentle encouragement. Jinju prefers women and warms up to them more quickly, though she will open up to men too with time. She really gravitates toward “dog people”—those who speak her language and offer calm, loving energy. She’s very well-behaved: quiet, smart, gentle, and obedient. All she needs is someone who can give her space to settle in at her own pace. -------------------- For more info about Jinju, or the adoption application, please follow the link below.
