My story

Mr. Valentine A17636836 lb. neutered male, approx 9 months old -Meet Mr. Valentine This shy sweetheart might not come bearing chocolates, but he’s full of love waiting to bloom.-Mr. Valentine is a young pup with a soft heart and a seriously adorable pouty face. He walks nicely on leash, but doorways can feel a little scary—he just needs a bit of encouragement and a kind voice to help him feel safe.-This gentle boy is currently being treated for some mange on his neck and feet, and he’s already on the road to healing. Despite the itchiness, he absolutely melts when you scratch his neck. Once he feels safe, he’ll lay beside you, rest his head, and even sneak in a few kisses. 🥹-He has moments of puppy playfulness—little bounces and curious glances—but he’s still figuring out the world and can get timid quickly. One moment he’s watching you do play bows with his ears back like “uhhh what are you doing?”… the next he’s cautiously wiggling and thinking about joining in.-He’s not super food motivated yet and still learning the ropes of “sit,” but with time, love, and a safe space, we know this boy will blossom. He’s been non reactive to other dogs and may do well with a calm canine friend after proper intros.-If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive pup to grow with and love on, Mr. Valentine might just be your forever match. He’s waiting for someone to show him the world isn’t so scary—with patience, he’s ready to fall in love.Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids•Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt •Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. •Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. •There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. •To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** •The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mr. Valentine, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
